Warehouses

Our warehouses in the Italian area are located at strategic points and offer different services based on their location.

Milan

Milan Warehouse – Samples

Located in Milan, in the Certosa area, it offers a service for the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of companies’ samples.

The service is fully computerised via a customer interface and offers special features such as the reliable identification of individual samples – including through a double-check of the customer barcode and/or serial number management – thereby guaranteeing the accuracy of the item collected and full traceability of the process, which is particularly useful for samples submitted for tenders. The product range we manage is extensive, both in terms of product types (22 product categories) and the number of SKUs handled.
Our organisation is also able to compile and prepare sample consignments for tenders, strictly adhering to the specifications set out in the tender documents. It also handles the delivery of sample displays to companies, public bodies, shops, large-scale retailers and private individuals.
Service throughout the supply chain, process control and the optimisation of workflows (and consequently of costs) are objectives that Sedisp has fully achieved in this context as well.

Wine Warehouse and Storage

The entire storage process is governed by procedures, with checks carried out by the IT system developed specifically for Sedisp. The entire process, from receipt of the products to dispatch to the end customer, is governed by strict procedures, both in terms of HACCP and logistics. Every single step is monitored by means of specific checks managed automatically by the system, which is able to alert managers not only in the event of blockages, but also in the event of delays in the execution of procedures. Goods may only be accepted into stock following thorough physical and documentary checks. The wine is stored in dedicated, temperature-controlled areas, where the temperature is constantly monitored. The packaging of the bottles, in accordance with palletising rules agreed with the customer, ensures they are suitable for storage and transport.
Sedisp has established the authorisations and rules for correct picking: thanks to its proprietary software, not only the batch but also the vintage is accurately tracked at every stage of entry into and exit from the warehouse.
Product handling is carried out using, depending on the type of product, certified and properly maintained forklifts and pallet trucks, in full compliance with current regulations.
Stock management and dynamic safety stock
How much to buy and when to buy to replenish stock levels? The answer is as little as possible. To this end, Sedisp has developed its own programme for the automatic recalculation of the correct safety stock.

If safety stock is not calculated correctly
· Some products are delivered in quantities exceeding actual requirements, leading to overstocking in certain on-board warehouses that are already limited in terms of space, resulting in greater financial exposure than necessary.
· Other products are consumed more frequently, leading to urgent orders, higher delivery costs and reduced product margins
· Stock levels are unable to meet all requirements because they are not always replenished correctly, resulting in back orders and causing inconvenience for the end customer

Services
We offer warehousing services, with or without minimum stock management, excise warehousing, wine import and export services (including full customs support), and online wine sales to private customers within the EU. Sedisp has in fact developed a dedicated shipping service based on its own computerised system, in full compliance with Legislative Decree 48/2010 and EU Directives 2006/112/EC and 2008/118/EC.

Genoa

Genoa Warehouse

Costa Cruises’ warehouse is located in Genoa, in the WTC area.

Through the computer system, the customer automatically and continuously receives up-to-date lists of all stock items and their current status in the warehouse. The software is based on UHF radio frequency, barcodes and labels, and uses handheld terminals to enable full traceability of goods, warehouse efficiency, accurate stock levels, statistics on daily movements, and monitoring of load, expiry dates and the age of goods. The automated management of IN and OUT customs documents (the only system of its kind in this sector) is the jewel in the crown of Sedisp’s management system.

Thanks to its meticulous organisation and operational management, underpinned by rigorous procedures, Sedisp is able to respond swiftly to the unpredictable and varied demands of the cruise logistics sector.
